The Association of Relatives, Patients and Collaborators of Alzheimer's, AFA Marina Baixa celebrates its nineteenth Alzheimer's Week with a busy schedule of activities focused today on the 'Gerolimpiadas' at 'Pepa Esperanza' Municipal Center.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the councillor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, and other members of the Municipal Corporation, including the provincial deputy José Ramón González de Zárate, attended this morning the recreational competition in which associated and 6th-grade Primary Education students from CEIP El Murtal.

The activities organized by AFA on the occasion of the event began with the exhibition 'My name is, you call me, which until September 15 could be seen in the Espai d'Art in the City Hall lobby. On Wednesday the 14th, Alzheimer's Week began, which will culminate on the 21st, World Alzheimer's Day, with the installation of three petition tables in Benidorm: Alameda street, Tomás Ortuño street and SS square. MM. the Kings of Spain. At 12:00 noon, a manifesto will be read at the gates of the Town Hall.

This year, the commemoration of World Alzheimer's Day advocates promoting research to advance in the fight against the disease, a message that AFA makes gives while recalling that, in Spain, there are 1,200,000 people affected by the disease and more than 5,000,000 among those who suffer from it and their families and caregivers.
