About twenty companies and entrepreneurs have stayed at l'Espai Coworking in Benidorm since its start-up in mid-2019, according to figures released today by the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez. The councillor indicated that "through this space, the Employment and Local Promotion Agency (AEDL) seeks to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship and promote the implementation of professional projects, supporting the self-employed, SMEs or micro-SMEs, especially in the initial phase of start-up of their business project by providing them with a workspace, both physical and virtual”.
As Gómez explained, "the coworking model is designed so that professionals, entrepreneurs, and SMEs can develop their independent projects while having the opportunity to establish synergies and relationships between them, thus favoring the promotion of joint projects".
The mayor recalled that "in addition to having a work center, the projects hosted at l'Espai Coworking also have common services and a meeting room, as well as technical support offered by the Local Employment and Promotion Agency, which allows installed companies to reduce costs in their initial phase of development”.
In these just over three years, "entrepreneurs and companies from very diverse sectors and profiles have stayed at l'Espai Coworking and show the increasing diversification of the productive fabric of Benidorm".
Thus, in this time there have been consulting projects, magic events, architecture, and ecological architecture training to obtain boat and jet ski driving licenses, home care for the elderly, tourist intelligence, language training, travel agency online travel, real estate in this same modality, marketing and communication, mindfulness and association of digital nomads.
Gómez highlighted that "practically all of these projects are still operational today, some in our municipal coworking space, while others have embarked on a new stage alone in their own space."
To these active projects in the municipal space, located on the first floor of the Aquarium building on Avenida Juan Fuster Zaragoza, there is now a company specializing in communication and another private investigation. Today the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion signed the agreement to join l'Espai Coworking with those responsible for both projects. They are Irene Torres and Manuel Salamanca from Chamelleon Intelligence.
"At the moment, there are five occupied work centers and in the coming weeks it is expected that two more new projects will be incorporated and a third has been interested," Gómez has detailed, "so there will still be one position available."
Companies interested in being hosted at l'Espai Coworking can contact the Employment and Local Promotion Agency based in the Town Hall. The basic rental price is 150 euros per month for each work center. However, "to facilitate the survival of the companies located in l'Espai, the work centers are exempt from paying this rent during the first 6 months of stay".
