Organized from the Conservatory, the experience aims to bring children closer to classical and contemporary music
680 Primary students from eight centers in Benidorm participate in 'Toca Música'
The Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council has hosted the eighth edition of 'Toca Música', after the two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic. An initiative of the Department of Education through the 'José Pérez Barceló' Professional Conservatory of Music.
The students, all Primary, mostly Second, from CEIP Els Tolls, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Aitana, Ausiàs March, Puig Campana, Leonor Canalejas; the CC Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores and the CI Lope de Vega, have been able to "know how the Conservatory works", said its director, José Miguel Mollá, in a "very fun activity" that aims to "bring children closer to music classic and contemporary.
On stage, students and teachers from the centre have performed everything from songs from 'The Incredibles', from Disney to batucadas and have enjoyed the anecdotes of the great performers and the instruments that made them famous.
With activities like this "we want to encourage children to enrol in the conservatory, and also in the rest of Benidorm's music schools", explained Mollá, and pointed out that "between 15 and 20%" of the children who have participated in previous calls for 'Toca Música' “have registered in one of these centres”.
