The Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works (ICIO) is already 50% lower in Benidorm, as the modification of Tax Ordinance number 5 has entered into force, which temporarily halves the tax on this matter. The Councilor for Finance, Aida García Mayor, recalled that “at the proposal of the government team, the plenary session initially approved on July 27 a package of bonuses and tax reductions of between 50 and 75% in certain rates, public prices and taxes and that benefit the population as a whole and that contribute to reducing the economic and social consequences derived from the health emergency situation ”.
Among the approved tax cuts "is that of the ICIO, which from now until March 31, 2021 will have a tax rate of 2% instead of 4%." García Mayor has indicated that "this fiscal measure is aimed at the local productive fabric, to encourage, stimulate and promote the performance of certain new construction or renovation activities, which in turn result in employment and in the social and general interest of Benidorm ”.
"We want to favor the activity of local companies and those that, being from other locations, want to invest in Benidorm, generating employment and, consequently, helping to alleviate the effects of the economic and social crisis that has resulted from the health crisis", has aimed.
The head of the Treasury recalled that, in addition to the reduction of the ICIO, discounts of between 50 and 75% will also be applied shortly in the public prices of services and cultural, educational and sports activities that depend on the City Council. Specifically, as of October 5, the modification of ordinances number 30, on municipal sports facilities; number 33 on courses and educational activities; 34, which regulates the price of nursery schools and early childhood care; 39 which regulates the prices of Youth activities, and 42 on courses and cultural activities. In addition, the discounts on the prices of the Conservatory are already in force, included in ordinance number 35
In this way, the bonuses for large, host or single-parent families are increased, and are also established for people with 33% functional diversity, as well as for retirees, pensioners and recipients of the guaranteed minimum income, according to the mayor Aida Garcia Mayor.
