33 unemployed workers join the City Council for a year through the Empuju and Explus programs

Benidorm City Council incorporates from today 33 unemployed workers who will carry out their work for twelve months to Empuju and Explus employment programs thanks to two subsidies obtained by LABORA for both programs: 258,264.00 euros for Explus and 253,716.00 euros for Empuju, both financed through European Social Fund. The municipal contribution, in turn, will be about 300,000 euros. Specifically, the City Council has incorporated 16 people under 30 years of age and 17 who are over that age.

The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, welcomed them this morning in an act that took place in the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall, in which the new workers signed their contracts, and in which they were also present the councilors for Employment and Human Resources, Mónica Gómez and Ana Soliveres.

Of the 33 new workers, 16 of them will be assigned to the maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities. The rest will carry out their functions in social centers, administrative extensions, and other departments such as Statistics or Local Police. In addition, two of the Empuju program contracts have been for two senior technicians with professional training in microcomputer systems-computer application programmers.

Toni Pérez indicated that it is "a great opportunity to work in the local administration", which is the closest to the citizen, and that their function will be "to serve people and improve municipal services together". The mayor has outlined that there are "very different" positions among the new hires "although many are in direct contact with the public that will serve to better understand the task of working in a town hall."

The mayor also highlighted that although these are jobs "of different qualifications", the common denominator is "the opportunity that working for Benidorm entails". For this reason, he wanted you to "be supporters of this opportunity because the people of Benidorm will appreciate it."

For her part, the Councilor for Employment, Mónica Gómez has stressed that the occupations that have been demanded are mainly related to customer service and building maintenance. Gómez has indicated that "it will be twelve months of work experience in the City Council that will serve to enhance the curriculum of each one."

The new hires will have a trial period of two months and will complete a working day of 37.5 hours a week with a month of vacation and morning and afternoon hours, being able to change the workplace depending on the needs, as explained by the councilor for Human Resources, Ana Soliveres.
