A computerized service for the location of loved ones will be implemented in San Jaume
132 new niches before the end of the year will be built in San Jaume cemetery
Everything is ready in Benidorm for the celebration of All Saints Day this Friday, November 1. The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with the councilor of Cemeteries, Ángela Llorca, colleagues of the corporation, and municipal technicians have today supervised the work carried out by the City Council in both municipal cemeteries that gain greater relevance coinciding with the event.
These actions are intended to "make the two municipal cemeteries more comfortable and accessible," said Toni Pérez. The interior and exterior painting of both graveyards has been carried out: in Sant Jaume and in La Mare de Déu del Sofratge; in the latter, "the wall parallel to Nicaragua has also been fixed," said Toni Pérez. Between the two, 4,500 daisy plants have been planted “so they look special” during the celebration.
In the cemetery of Sant Jaume the occupation of the block of 40 niches built at the beginning of the year has been verified and the adjacent plot has been supervised where “immediately” construction “of 132 new ones will begin, in three blocks, with a investment of around 100,000 euros ”. On the other hand, attention to the public has been improved with the implementation of a telematic service that informs visitors where their loved ones are located. "He has been endowed - said the mayor - of a computer equipment that issues a ticket with the details, for which it is only necessary to provide the name and surname of the person being sought."
Apart from the work carried out at the municipal facilities, Toni Pérez has influenced the implementation of the special bus service of lines 5 and 8 to the cemetery of Sant Jaume, in collaboration with the urban transport company, Llorente Bus, from from Thursday 31 to November 2, as well as the extension of the schedules “in the afternoon of Saturday and Sunday so that the visit to our loved ones can be more accessible”.
On the other hand, it should be remembered that the Mobility area has enabled Tuesday, access from the CV-70 to the cemetery through the industrial estate.
