Serra Gelada Natural Park commemorates the 'World Water Day' with a guided visit to the WWTP of Benidorm
The City Council collaborates in this awareness raising activity in which attendees will know how the integral water cycle works
The Natural Park of Serra Gelada, with the collaboration of the department of Environment of Benidorm City Hall, will commemorate the 'World Water Day' with a guided visit to the facilities of the Sewage Treatment Plant (EDAR) of the City next Saturday, March 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This is an environmental awareness activity in which the attendees will be able to get acquainted with the EDAR, the Town Hall and the natural park staff how the integral water cycle in Benidorm works: supply system, purification processes, water uses And advantages and problems of the system.
From the Natural Park have pointed out that the purpose of this visit is for the participants to become aware of the 'water footprint' of a municipality with the characteristics of Benidorm and how it influences the local environment.
Water Day is celebrated, on the initiative of the United Nations, on March 22. In 2017 the motto chosen by the Natural Protected Areas Management Service has chosen for its commemoration is 'The protected natural spaces in the preservation of the water resource'.
