The plenary session approves a motion of support and solidarity with the evacuees and victims of the island of Palma by the eruption of the volcano

The municipal corporation of Benidorm has unanimously approved a motion by the Board of Spokespersons of support and solidarity with the island of Palma due to the volcanic eruption that began on September 19.
With this institutional declaration, the City Council has sent a message of solidarity "to the entire palm tree society in these moments of great concern." The motion expresses "all our support for the people evacuated from their homes and, very especially, our affection for those who have lost their homes, their crops or any other asset under the lava." The corporation, adds the motion, has conveyed that the "pain, anguish and despair" felt by the palm trees "we also feel."
The approved proposal also includes congratulations and gratitude for "the tireless work" carried out in the place by emergency teams, State Security Forces and Corps, non-governmental organizations, the Army, local police, professionals from the health sector, the media. "And so many groups that with their work on the ground contribute to reducing the consequences of this natural phenomenon."
Likewise, it has been approved to initiate the procedures so that "the town of Benidorm, through its City Council", enables 15,000 euros in concept of emergency economic aid to the island of Palma through the means enabled and that are facilitated by the Cabildo insular.
In the statement of reasons for the motion, the corporation has valued "the response of the people of La Palma, its example of civility with which, in very difficult moments, it has assumed the recommendations of the authorities prioritizing personal safety and security. collective ”. It has been and is "a lesson for all" adds the motion.
The corporation also shows that the archipelago and Spanish institutions have not been slow to offer the means they have "to contribute their grain of sand in the face of this emergency." This collaboration since the beginning of the crisis "once again shows us that the Canary Islands are a land of solidarity".
Finally, the City Council has wanted to offer its help at the logistical, material and equipment level to the town councils of the municipalities most directly affected (Llanos de Aridane, El Paso and Todoque) “that they are demonstrating, together with the Island Council of La Palma, the importance of the closest administrations in extremely difficult moments ”.
