More than 3,700 members of the clubs participate tonight in the Entrada de Peñas

More than 3,700 members of the clubs participate tonight in the Entranda de Peñas , an act that serves as a prelude to the official start of the 2017 Major Festivities, and which starts tomorrow at noon with the general bell tolling at San Jaime and Santa Ana church and with an aerial bombardment at Plaza Castelar.

According to the data provided by the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, the census of the clubs ascends this year to 3,763 members distributed in 197 clubs belonging to the Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge and a score not associated. Forming by order of seniority, the associated clubs will take part in the Entrada scheduled for 22.30 and will go through Ruzafa and Martínez Alejos streets.

Tomorrow the activity will begin at 10.00 am with a Mass at the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana in honor of the patroness saint, Virgin of Sufragio, sung by the ACR La Barqueta. Later, and after the bells overturning and the aerial bombardment that announces the beginning of the Major Patron Festivities, there will be the Entrance of Bands in which 11 musical groups participate and the Colla de Xirimiters de La Marina. Next, all the bands will perform the pasodoble 'Fiesta en Benidorm', directed by the author of the piece, maestro Rafael Doménech.

In the afternoon, at 5:00 pm, it will be the turn of the recreation of the Finding of the Virgin by the ACR La Barqueta; and at 6:00 pm the Flower Offering in honor of the patron will begin. After the offering to the Virgin of the Sufragio, the infant queen of the Festes Majors Patronals, Àngela Antón Pérez, will recite the traditional verse to the Mare de Déu, and the older queen, Anna Galiana Pérez, will say a few words to the town of Benidorm. The proclamation, on this occasion, will be in charge the doctor Juan Ángel Ferrer Azcona.

As usual for the festivities a special road cleaning device has been planned, as well as a reinforcement of the local police service.

In addition to the ordinary service, which has been adjusted to the maximum time of the acts, the Local Police has planned for the Major Employer Festivities has envisaged a strengthening of the Local Police of 260 extraordinary services. The councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, has indicated that the police presence in the center will be reinforced and attention to events such as concerts, parades and mascletás, "but without neglecting the rest of Benidorm."

In addition, and as in the devices of previous years, "some cleaning and collection schedules will be modified to conform to festive activities".
