Los peñistas celebran la tradicional ‘picaeta’ con autoridades en el recinto de la acampada

The Association of Peñas Virgen del Sufragio has celebrated this morning the traditional 'picaeta' with authorities in the area of ​​the camping of the Penyes. Attending the event were the Queens of the Major Patriotic Festivities 2017, Anna Galiana Pérez and Angela Antón Pérez, accompanied by their respective courts of honor; the president of the Association of Peñas, Mariano Nájera; the president of the Festival Committee, Antonio Vicente Fuster; as well as numerous 'peñistas and festeros'.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; headed the municipal representation, which also had the presence of the councillor of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; as well as the councillors José Ramón González de Zárate, Lourdes Caselles, Lorenzo Martínez, Rubén Martínez, Bernardo Mira and Tere Águila.

After the 'picaeta', (aperitive) the members of the penyes began to prepare the last paellas, in which more than 3,500 people have participated since last Friday and that has been developed without important incidences. The security device as well as the control to avoid the consumption of alcohol among the minors have caused that this important festive event passes normally.

The games, music, dance and various activities organized by the association have been a success. Camp 2017 concludes this afternoon.
