#LuceBenidorm contest will have more than 2,300 participating establishments

More than 2,300 establishments in Benidorm will take part in #LuceBenidorm contest convened by the City Council, once all registrations have been assessed. The list includes 2,321 admitted establishments and 187 that have not been admitted for not meeting any of the requirements of the bases.
However, once the list is published, a period of ten days is opened so that they can present any allegation in order for their request to be answered.
The objective of this contest is to inject 1.1 million euros into the local productive fabric and boost activity after the high season.
The contest aims to support the productive fabric, which still is suffering the effects of the economic crisis derived from the pandemic "and which has to deal with aspects that make it difficult for it to develop its activity normally or at least be able to recover it," said the Mayor Toni Pérez.
In this sense, the establishments add limitations such as the increase in operating costs and supplies, such as electricity, which has skyrocketed and is penalizing families and the productive fabric ”.
Given this circumstance, the City Council decided to launch this initiative "to mitigate the situation as much as possible" and hence the call for this new decorating contest "to compensate for the increase in expenses".
The dynamics of this #LuceBenidorm "is very similar" to that of #BenidormTeEspera ", in this case aimed exclusively at commercial establishments, restaurants, hotels, leisure and services in the town. The participants have decorated their establishments with a free theme, prominently and visibly incorporating the hashtag #LuceBenidorm, an ornamentation that must be maintained until November 17. Likewise, establishments must publish at least one image of the decorated establishment on one or more social networks including the hashtag of the contest and #Benidorm, and tagging the City Council.
The contest establishes a general prize for participants of 400 euros and three prizes of 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euros in each of the two types of competition: commercial and service establishments, and hotel, restaurant and leisure establishments.
The mayor has highlighted that "the effort, creativity and fighting spirit of our merchants, hoteliers, restaurateurs and service companies is once again recognized."
