Mónica Gómez has collected both awards, which will soon be placed on both beaches and which are added to the one achieved by the Nautical Club
Levante and Poniente beaches of Benidorm will display the blue flag
Levante and Poniente beaches will fly the Blue Flag this summer, joining the other distinctions that certify the excellent quality of the water, sand, and services offered by the city's beaches. Benidorm City Councillor Mónica Gómez received both Blue Flags this Monday in the Castellón town of Xilxes at an event organised by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) and presided over by the Valencian Regional Government's Minister of the Environment, Infrastructure, and Territory, Vicente Martínez Mus.
Gómez noted that "both beaches have retained the recognition they first received in 2015, which attests to the undeniable quality of our beaches from an environmental and facilities perspective." “We have beaches that remain active 12 months a year,” she explained, “which is a distinctive feature and clearly demonstrates the importance we in Benidorm place on our beaches as a tourist and environmental resource, always striving for excellence.”
As the councilwoman emphasised, “this effort is recognised with this Blue Flag and with all the quality certifications that our beaches renew year after year after passing rigorous audits.”
The councilwoman announced that “in the coming weeks, in preparation for the start of the summer season, the official Blue Flag raising ceremony will take place,” adding to the one awarded once again to the Benidorm Yacht Club, which its president, Jaime Samper, also accepted today.
