Hosbec, awarded by Caixa Bank for its action during the pandemic

The hotel association of Benidorm and the Valencian Community, Hosbec, has been recognized by Caixa Bank in the third edition of H&T Awards for the best initiatives of 2020 for its social action during the pandemic. The General Secretary of Hosbec, Nuria Montes, has collected this award during a ceremony held in Hall 8 of the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (Fitur), and that was attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fernando Valdés, and by the first deputy mayor of Benidorm City Council, Ana Pellicer.

Among the actions by which Hosbec has had this recognition are the creation of a crisis committee in March 2020; the repatriation of thousands of tourists in the first days of the pandemic, even ahead of the calendar set by the Central Government; the medicalization of hotels; and to make available apartments for health workers. This last action, promoted and coordinated with Benidorm City Council, allowed 75 health professionals to be accommodated free of charge in safe conditions for them and their families during the first and third waves of the pandemic.
