La ciudad deportiva Guillermo Amor acoge los 24º Juegos Deportivos Adaptados que culminan con la entrega de medallas y la comida de hermandad

The Association of People with Disabilities of Benidorm and the Region (Asmibe) held its XXIV Adapted Sports Games today, which took place on the artificial grass field of the Guillermo Amor sports city. A day in which nearly 300 athletes participated from various centres of the city and the province, which culminated in the afternoon with the presentation of trophies and medals and a massive brotherhood meal.

An event was attended by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí, and the Councilor for Sports, Javier Jordá, who did not want to miss the presentation of recognition to all the participating centres and athletes. Both have been accompanied by members of the local corporation.

Schools, special education centres, occupational centres and residences from Benidorm, the region and the province have taken part in these Games. This year a total of 18 centres have taken part, of which nine are based in Benidorm (Asmibe, Tapis, Doble Amor, Llorca Linares, CRIS Benidorm, CEEM Benidorm, CEIP Puig Campana, AFEM Marina Baixa and Centro Terapéutico Spiral).

They have been joined by other centers in various towns in the province (Les Talaies Center and El Secanet school in La Vila Joiosa, Maite Boronat Occupational Centre in Calpe, Aprosdeco Occupational and Day Centre in Denia, La Torreta Asprodis residence in Elda, Aspadis Day of Villena, Relleu occupational centre, APSA occupational center of San Juan and San Rafael centre of Alicante). All of them have come with monitors, companions and collaborators.

Adapted Sports Games are inclusive games with numerous tests such as assisted races, speed, long jump, shot put, petanque, psychomotor circuit, goal throwing, basketball baskets, tennis, minigolf, parachute, bowling or games of skill.

All the tests have been organized and coordinated by the TAFAD of Lope de Vega School, with about 30 students who have helped and encouraged the participants and whose work has been recognized with a trophy.
Once the ceremony was over, a community meal was held for participants, instructors and collaborators that brought together about 500 people on the indoor multisport track of the sports city.
