The Ermita de Sanç de Benidorm has hosted this Saturday a new edition of ‘Menjars de la Terra’, a gastronomic event organised by the Comissió de Festes de Sant Antoni and which pays tribute to the most typical gastronomy of Benidorm. The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, together with the councillor for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros and other members of the municipal Corporation, have accompanied the mayorales of Sant Antoni in this event, together with numerous residents of the l’Horta neighbourhood and other areas of Benidorm who have also wanted to collaborate. The president of the Comissió de Sant Antoni, Vicente Mayor, has accompanied the mayor and the councillor for Festivals on a tour of the different points, which was also joined by the children's queen of the Festes Majors Patronals, Laia Zamora Picó. The president of the Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge, Jaume Cortés, and other members of its board also participated among the attendees.
Sant Antoni Commission has expressed its gratitude to all the local companies, entities and residents who have collaborated in this edition of ‘Menjars de la Terra’, comparing tickets or contributing some of the traditional food from Benidorm's gastronomy that could be tasted.
These include salads, shoulder rolls, pebrera tallà, coca farcida, sang amb ceba, olleta de blat, different types of rice, fruit, ice cream and sweet cocas.
The Sant Antoni del Porquet festivities are traditionally held in mid-January at the Ermita de Sanç, with events such as the flower offering, the proclamation, the verses or the blessing of animals in the Ermita square.
