Gastronomic Benidorm will have the first cocktail contest, from September 23 to October 2

Benidorm Gastronómico 2022 has presented today at the headquarters of the Department of Tourism, El Torrejó Municipal Building, the "First Cocktail Contest" that is integrated as the fourth experience of Benidorm Gastronómico 2022, which will close the eleventh edition of the rice contest.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with the Godfather of this edition, the restaurateur Manuel Ruíz Girona, attended the presentation that has been developed after the jury's tasting of the elaborations of the participating establishments.

Pérez has highlighted "the innovation component" that the introduction of this contest in the Gastronomic Benidorm 2022 supposes, highlighting "the contribution to the value chain" of a tourist destination such as Benidorm, given the boom in cocktails, in its multiple variants both in restaurants and nightlife.

Mayor Toni Pérez highlighted the efforts of the ten participating establishments and congratulated ABRECA "for introducing this new action", emphasizing that "the City Council will be supporting actions like this in favour of bars, restaurants and nightlife". Pérez indicated his conviction that "there will be more editions" and encouraged them to participate in the contest between September 23 and October 2.

The participating public will award the Special Prize by voting on the Gastroevents APP and with the brochures, having to visit at least 3 of the 10 registered establishments that will offer an alcoholic and a non-alcoholic cocktail. A professional jury has valued the elaboration and presentation of the cocktails, which have been developed this morning at the headquarters of the Department of Tourism by the cocktail professionals of the registered establishments; A part of the jury has valued the technique and presentation and the rest has carried out, from an adjoining room, a blind tasting of the elaborations.

Participating in this first edition are Villa Venecia Hotel and the establishments Diva 15, El Mesón, KU Lounge Cafe, Mia Social Club, Penélope Beach Club, Pinocchio Playa, Rico Cafeteria, Saltoki Experiencia and Spasso.
