This afternoon have begun the events organized by the Department of Mobility on the occasion of the European Week of Mobility that will last until Saturday, September 22. The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with those responsible for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate; Sports, Arturo Cabrillo; and Youth, Ana Pellicer, and a group of neighbors have made a bicycle tour, through what will be the cycle ring of Levante, a project approved by the City Council in plenary session based on the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS).
The 'platoon' has taken the exit from the intermodal stop of the TRAM and has continued along Francisco Llorca Antón street and Comunidad Europea, Comunidad Valenciana Avenues, Severo Ochoa, Ametlla de Mar, Mediterráneo, Europa and again Comunidad Europea Avenue and Francisco Llorca Antón.
The European Mobility Week aims to raise awareness among policy makers and the public of the negative consequences for public health and the environment of the irrational use of cars in the city, as well as the benefits of using sustainable means of transport like buses or bicycles. Tomorrow, Monday, the program of activities will continue with the route of a circuit on foot that will leave at 08:30 hours from Beniardà Avenue at its confluence with the FGV station.
