El Rocío Brotherhood will collect school supplies to distribute among vulnerable families
The Brotherhood of Our Lady of El Rocío in Benidorm is going to carry out a solidarity campaign to collect school supplies to distribute among children from families at risk of social exclusion who attend school in the municipality. This has been conveyed by representatives of this Brotherhood to the Councillors for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros; Education, Maite Moreno; and Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí, during a meeting to present this initiative for the start of the next school year 2024-2025.
The president of the Brotherhood of El Rocío, Jesús Malumbres, accompanied by his vice president and the delegate of Social Work, has explained that this campaign will be carried out on September 4, 5 and 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in different bookstores in the municipality, which the entity will announce shortly.
The Brotherhood of Our Lady of El Rocío has asked the public to collaborate in this solidarity campaign, as have the three councillors of the local government, who have thanked the Rocío of Benidorm for their “involvement and desire to help those who need it most”.
In addition to this matter, the meeting also discussed issues such as the creation, organisation and updating of the Social Work Delegation of this Brotherhood, which they have described as a “primary objective” at this time. In the same way, they have announced that they are organising a gala at the Molino, where 50% of the profit obtained will go to AFA-Marina Baixa, the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients, whose artistic poster and date will also be announced shortly.
