El Rocío Brotherhood celebrates its Simulacrum of Departure from Sant Jaume church
El Rocío Brotherhood in Benidorm has once again celebrated the third of the days dedicated to Blanca Paloma of its 2024 triduum with the celebration of the Eucharist in the church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna, a parish that, on this occasion, has hosted an event that is traditionally celebrated in La Almudena, headquarters of the brotherhood
The event included the participation of the Fiestas Councilor, Mariló Cebreros, other members of the corporation and the regional deputy José Ramón González de Zárate, who supported, in a temple full to overflowing, the group chaired by Jesús Malumbres and whose Ellder Sister is Rosario or Rosa Marí Vaquero.
The religious event had the participation of the Choir of Nuestra Señora del Rocío of Valencia and the official drummer of Benidorm El Rocío Brotherhood. Next, the presentation of the pilgrimage poster took place, a work by Javier Hernández Vázquez.
Once the mass was over, Mariló Cebreros, already outside the parish, signed in the Book of Rules of the Brotherhood and, then, the attendees went on a pilgrimage around the streets. Then in El Moralet Park, a day of coexistence took place.
El Rocío Announcement
Today's event concludes the triduum organized by the brotherhood that experienced one of its most intense days last night in La Almudena parish, in Colonia Madrid. The new brothers incorporated this year took the traditional oath and received their corresponding medals. Next, Juan María Garrido read the Proclamation of the 2024 Pilgrimage.
The event was attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and also by Cebreros, as well as other local councillors. The first mayor had the opportunity to address the attendees to wish them a happy pilgrimage and thank them for the effort they make throughout the year to keep alive a tradition that manages to energize an entire neighbourhood and that, by right, is part of the intense festive calendar of the city.
