Benidorm will be the protagonist of the first of three documentaries filmed for the Spanish Tourist Office in The Hague

Dutch television is interested in Benidorm's sustainable tourism model

28 January 2021
La televisió holandesa s'interessa pel model de turisme sostenible de Benidorm...

A team from the 'Doe maar duurzaam' program, which we could translate as 'Make it sustainable' from the Dutch television RTL Z, has traveled to Benidorm today to interview the manager of the Visit Benidorm Foundation, Leire Bilbao, and make the Dutch public the city's efforts on sustainability, environment and smart destination.

‘Doe maar duurzaam’ is an informative program that emphasizes the possibilities of a more sustainable day-to-day, seeking the complicity of its viewers. On this occasion, the channel is shooting three documentaries in Spain for the Spanish Tourist Office in The Hague, the first of which will focus on Benidorm as a Smart Tourist Destination.

The journalists of the Dutch channel have been interested in the multiple initiatives implemented in the city that make it a benchmark for safe and sustainable tourism, as evidenced by the 'New Travel, New Safe' initiative, developed in the DTI + Seguro project, considered where it has been presented as an inspiring success story.

The documentary emphasizes the reduction of pollution, the responsible use of water, energy and other initiatives that have made Benidorm an attractive holiday city for the public most concerned about the environment.
