Fallas 2025 is just around the corner. This afternoon the traditional event announcing the imminent arrival of the Josefinas festivities took place, the ‘Crida’, in which the three Fallas entities of Benidorm – Els Tolls, Rincón de Loix and Benidorm Distrito Centro – invited the public to participate in these celebrations. Due to the rain, the act was held in the Hall of Acts of the City Hall instead of the usual location on Gambo Street. The event was attended by, among others, the mayor Toni Pérez; the councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros; the regional deputy José Ramón González de Zárate, and members of the municipal corporation.

At around 7:00 p.m., the ‘Crida’ opened with the president of the Fallera Local Board, María Ángeles Espinosa, coming up on stage, accompanied by the member of the Local Board, Marisa García. Its president Wenceslao Peris and its Fallera Mayor Teresa Peris carried the Falla Els Tolls banner. Next, Falla Rincón de Loix banner preceded its children's president and its children's Fallera Mayor, Samuel Cortés and Ariadna Orgilés. After them, the banner of the commission was raised with Javier Rico, president, and Olaya García, Fallera Mayor. Finally, the banner of the children's commission of the Falla Benidorm Centro made its appearance with the children's president, Carlos de Torres, and the children's Fallera Mayor, Adriana Baldó. Finally, the president of the Benidorm Centro commission, Vicente Jorro, and the Fallera Mayor, Laura Pascual, also went up on stage.

Later, in a joint speech, the Falleras proclaimed the proximity of the festivities and invited Benidorm residents and tourists to accompany them and enjoy them. “It is time to show off our clothes for a festival that is an Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Let us enjoy it to the fullest, and from here, we encourage everyone to continue with our culture, traditions, and celebrations,” they said.

In this unanimous intervention, the Falleras announced that “these will be intense days for all those who want to participate” and affirmed that “the effort finally bore fruit”.

After the cry of ‘Ja estem en Falles’ pronounced by the falleras, the mayor also joined in and assured that “the rain does not stop us from doing this very symbolic act”. Toni Pérez wished everyone “happy holidays” and “the best fallas that we can dream of”. He highlighted the work done by the members of the Fallas throughout the year and during the celebrations and asked, given today's weather, “that it does not stop raining in the next few days until the festivals begin, one of the most followed in the city”. The event ended with the anthems of Benidorm and the Valencian Community.
