Benidorm will host the full DTI Network coinciding with the Digital Tourist Congress

Benidorm will host on October 17 the Plenary Commission of the Network of Smart Tourist Destinations (DTI) coinciding with the celebration in the city of the Digital Tourist Congress, organized by AMETIC and the City Council. This has been agreed today during the Executive of the DTI Network held today in Madrid attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and chaired by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel Oliver.

The mayor recalled that “Benidorm is one of the founding destinations of this Network, raised by the Ministry of Tourism and SEGITTUR and constituted last February, with the aim of fostering collaboration between member destinations, seeking synergies and exchanging good practices , to develop a framework for joint promotion that guarantees Spain's leadership in tourism ”.

During this Plenary Commission in Benidorm, among other matters, the incorporation of new institutional members and collaborating members of the Network will be approved. The mayor has invited all current members of the Network to participate in this appointment in Benidorm -66 destinations and 10 institutional members, after the incorporations approved today by the Committee, as well as to all those who have an interest in joining it ”.

Toni Pérez has stressed that “on October 17 and 18, Benidorm will bring together leading experts in the digital industry and innovation, as well as cities, destinations, entities and institutions that are firmly committed to advancing in the development and implementation of tourism intelligence ”. "Without a doubt," he added, "the fact that AMETIC on the one hand and SEGITTUR on the other have chosen Benidorm for both appointments confirm the good work that is constantly being developed in this area, and our positioning as the first certified intelligent tourist destination of the world".

About the Digital Tourist 2019

After the experience of 2018, the Digital Tourist Congress repeats in Benidorm, this time in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall. Five are the thematic areas that arise for the 2019 edition: Mobility, Tourist Services, Data, Public Procurement and Thematic Tourism. They seek to analyze in depth issues of mobile terminals and their applications, digitalization and provision of Intelligence, application analysis of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence to Tourism, bidding issues and innovative public procurement, as well as technology applied to tourism modalities : Beaches, Gastronomy, Heritage, Culture, Nature, etc.
