Benidorm City Council will hire eight unemployed young people under 30 years of age for 12 months through the EMPUJU-Avalem Joves Plus program, co-financed by the European Union through the Operational Youth Employment Program of the European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-2020 . For this, the Consistory has received from LABORA a subsidy of 123,371.46, slightly less than 40% of the amount requested, which reached 371,244.48 euros.
The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, explained that “with the grant that we had requested, we could have hired 20 people. However, we have had to adapt and readjust our initial proposal to the subsidy that they have granted us, going from 20 to eight people who we will finally be able to hire ”.
Gómez explained that "for a year, the eight people under 30 who join the workforce will carry out maintenance tasks for municipal facilities"; and she added that "the program is scheduled to start in mid-December."
According to the mayor, "shortly the job offer will be sent to LABORA, which includes the eight positions in demand", corresponding to the occupation ‘Maintenance of Buildings’. When starting the candidate selection process, l’Espai LABORA de Benidorm will carry out a survey among unemployed people under 30 years of age in the town registered in the aforementioned occupation. Subsequently, it will send the City Council a list with the names of the candidates who will participate in the selection process.
The person in charge of Employment and Local Promotion explained that "people interested in participating in the selection process must be registered in LABORA as job seekers and registered in the aforementioned occupation of 'Building maintainer'". In addition, they must be registered in the National Youth Guarantee System, a procedure that they can complete ‘online’ through the link: https://garantiajuvenil.sepe.es/nuevaSolicitud.
