Toni Pérez and Carlos Mazón highlight the common interest in this project that "brings culture and heritage closer" to the public
The forecast is to complete the operation within a period of 3 months

Benidorm will soon have "an institutional headquarters of the Provincial Council of Alicante with a marked cultural character". This is how the president of the provincial entity, Carlos Mazón, and the mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, have advanced it today, after a working meeting held at Benidorm City Hall in which this project that involves acquiring a property has been addressed in the old town that will operate as the permanent headquarters of the Provincial Council in the tourist capital of the Costa Blanca.

Mazón has indicated that with the opening of this cultural institutional headquarters, the "decentralization and structuring process" started this year with a project of identical characteristics in Elche and that "now arrives in Benidorm" is being deepened. This venue will have “life” and will be “an attraction for our residents and tourists from a cultural point of view”, since exhibitions, concerts and literary activities will be held there, as well as pictorial and archaeological collections.

In this regard, the president of the Provincial Council recalled that the institution has very important archaeological collections in the MARQ, with the "spectacular pictorial collection" of the Mubag, with a large literary cultural agenda through the Juan Gil-Albert Institute and with the ADDA Symphony Orchestra. An outstanding offer, he has assured, that "cannot be left out of the access of the citizens of Benidorm and its tourists".

The mayor, for his part, influenced the common interest of Alicante Provincial Council and Benidorm City Council for "bringing culture and heritage closer" to the citizenry; and he has ensured that this permanent institutional headquarters "will greatly improve the possibilities of action and cultural activity" in the city "in a central and accessible location."

Toni Pérez has transferred that "that shared dream is already materializing" that will allow "increasing the heritage and services available to citizens, in this case in the cultural field"; and he has advanced that the forecast is to have this headquarters in an approximate period of "three months".

Likewise, he has described as "very good news" that Benidorm adds a new cultural space in the heart of the historic center; and he has stressed that this project is the result of "many hours of work" and "dedication".

As reported by the president of the Provincial Council, work is currently being done "on the procedural and legal part", and as a step prior to the bidding process for the purchase of a property, "an assignment has been made to find out the market value ” of the area “marked by Benidorm City Council” and progress is being made in the technical specifications.

To begin with, the provincial institution has a budget item in the Architecture area, directed by José Ramón González de Zárate, of one million euros for investments in real estate; an item that "could be expanded with extraordinary funds" if necessary "if indicated by economic studies."

Mazón has highlighted that this "new investment" for Benidorm, in addition to contributing to "revitalizing and promoting the cultural life" of the city for all audiences, will bring "an extraordinary return" for the different local economic sectors.

In addition to being a cultural space, this permanent headquarters of the Provincial Council will also operate as a service to assist the citizen and the social and productive fabric of Benidorm.
