Benidorm reinforces the summer cleaning service with more staff and machinery
Benidorm has reinforced the street cleaning service for the summer season, with the incorporation of "new human and technical resources", as indicated by the councilor for the area, José Ramón González de Zárate, who specified that the reinforcement "will be progressive ”and“ it will be modulated and expanded according to the needs ”that the city presents at all times. Thus, weekly the City Council and the concessionary company will evaluate and analyze the possible needs both at the level of cleaning and waste collection.
De Zárate has indicated that "based on the numbers of garbage collection and the influx of people to the beaches we have made an increase in staff, and as these figures increase, we will expand the workforce."
The mayor has advanced that "emphasis will be placed on cleaning and disinfecting public spaces, especially the most crowded ones, where the frequency of emptying litter bins will also increase." For this, it will have two tanks and two 'extra' sweepers that add to the usual cleaning and sweeping service, and which has also recently incorporated a nebulizer gun that allows disinfecting streets and public spaces more quickly and effective.
Furthermore, “as in previous seasons, we have a scrubber cleaner for cleaning the pavement of Poniente Promenade and all pedestrian areas, which have increased significantly in the last year and especially in recent months with the aim to generate more spaces for walks ”.
