The City Council has begun to solve and pay the first requests
Benidorm receives more than 1,200 applications for municipal aid to companies and the freelancers
<p><strong>Aid to mitigate the economic effects of Covid-19 ranges between 500 and 1,000 euros</strong></p>
Benidorm City Council has received more than 1,200 applications from companies, businesses, SMEs and freelancers to avail themselves of municipal aid to mitigate the effects of the economic crisis derived from Covid-19, as reported today by the Councilor for Employment and Local Development , Mónica Gómez, who recalled that the application period ended on August 14.
The councillor explained that "the first three remittances of applications have already been valued by the technical commission, and this week the aid granted in the first one has begun to be paid, which amounted to 41,500 euros." Likewise, the second remittance will be paid shortly and the third will be approved, evaluated today by the technical commission that meets weekly to attend and study the requests.
Gómez recalled that "the City Council wants to contribute to the recovery and maintenance of local commerce and the revitalization of the productive fabric of Benidorm, minimizing as far as possible the economic impact caused by the health crisis."
The person in charge of Employment has specified that "the amount of the aid ranges between 500 and 1,000 euros depending on the condition that the decree of state of alarm caused on the activity". Thus, the aid will amount to 1,000 euros for those who were affected by the closure of establishments; to 750 euros for those who saw their turnover reduced by at least 40% between March 14 and April 19 with respect to the average of the previous six months or the period of registration of the activity; and 500 euros for applicants who have been recipients of municipal aid to families.
Gómez has indicated that "to date a very high percentage of the requests evaluated have been solved favorably", and has clarified that "most of the denied requests have been rejected for having the activity the fiscal domicile outside of Benidorm, thus breaching one of the requirements of the call ”.
These municipal aid to the commercial fabric, companies, SMEs and freelancers are in addition to those aimed at mitigating the effects of Covid-19 among families in Benidorm; aid for families to which 1.4 million euros have been allocated.
