Benidorm receives 374,277 euros from the Generalitat's Cooperation Fund for tourist municipalities
Benidorm City Council has received a grant of 374,277.90 euros from the Valencian Government's Cooperation Fund for tourist municipalities. This aid will be used to finance activities and services in the tourist field, as the municipality's status as a tourist municipality has been recognised, as indicated in the resolution published in the Official Journal of the Valencian Government where the aid destined for each of the municipalities is resolved.
The Councillor for Finance, Aida García Mayor, has explained that Benidorm is the city in the Valencian Community that will obtain the most funds from this Cooperation Fund, which amounts to 4 million euros for the region as a whole. According to García Mayor, “Benidorm is the city that receives the most funds due to its status as a leading tourist destination in our region”, after which he pointed out that “with this contribution, the Generalitat is cooperating to compensate for the financial effort that tourist destinations make for tourist activity, especially in the provision of services to serve a population far above that indicated in the census”.
