This year's the offer for children from 0 to 2 years old is 220 places, to which are added the P2 classrooms available in five public schools
Benidorm opens the application period for municipal nursery schools and SAPI on April 15
The process will be done online until April 30 and the City Council will enable a point to help families who lack electronic means
On April 15, Benidorm City Council will open the deadline to apply for a place in the city's three municipal nursery schools – Fontanelles, Les Caletes and El Tossalet – and in the Nanets Early Childhood Care Service (SAPI). The Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, has announced that “the provisional offer for the 2024/2025 course of Early Childhood from 0 to 2 years in the municipal network is 220 vacancies for families with minors born in the years 2022, 2023 and 2024.” and has added that the period to formalize this procedure will be extended until April 30.
The number of provisional vacancies is distributed in 16 places for Infants from 0 years old; 140, for P1; and 64 places for 2-year-old children. Regarding the 0-year-old Infant units, Moreno has indicated that “to enrol a minor born in 2024 in classrooms at this level, she must be four months old as of September 1, 2024.”
The councillor has clarified that "the overall offer of the three municipal nursery schools is greater than the places offered, but part of the school places are already occupied by students enrolled in previous years who have confirmed their enrollment and who will move up a level in September.".
The process for a place in nursery schools and SAPI will be done electronically through the City Council's Electronic Headquarters (https://sede.benidorm.org/inicio). Moreno has stressed that "following the dynamics implemented by the Ministry itself in its procedures, to formalize the request it will be necessary to have a digital certificate."
Likewise, the councillor has announced that the City Council will set up a point to help families who lack technological means for electronic processing, which can be accessed in the Department of Education, located on the 3rd floor of the City Hall. To do this, it will be necessary to make an appointment by calling 966815471.
Families must attach all required documentation to the application in PDF format; documentation that can be consulted on the municipal website, in the Education section, https://benidorm.org/es/ayuntamiento/concejalias/educacion, within the section 'Registration of municipal specialized services for early childhood course 2024-2025',
Moreno recalled that “when it comes to filling the places, requests from families registered in Benidorm for at least 12 uninterrupted months will be attended to first. Next, it will be the turn of the families registered for less than a year; and ultimately, if there are vacancies, the requests of families residing in other locations would be met.” Likewise, she has stressed that "if the demand exceeds the supply of places, only families registered in Benidorm will be included in the official waiting list."
The application period will be open from April 15 to 30. The provisional lists will be published on May 15, and there will be three days - May 15, 16 and 17 - for claims.
On May 27, the final lists will be published, and from that same day until May 29 families can present their observations. Finally, once this process is completed, each centre will set the registration date for admitted students.
Places from the Regional Government for P2
Apart from the municipal offer, the councillor Maite Moreno recalled that Benidorm “has 90 additional places for 2-year-old kindergartens, for boys and girls born in 2022, in the classrooms set up for this purpose in Aitana, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Mestre Gaspar López, Puig Campana and La Cala schools”. The councillor has clarified that "the registration for these places will be the same as established by the Ministry for the second cycle of Early Childhood and Primary Education", whose calendar has not been published yet.
