"Activate and find your job" is aimed at unemployed people over 30 years

Benidorm launches a program to boost employability

14 March 2018
Benidorm pone en marcha un programa para impulsar la empleabilidad

The Councilor for Employment, Development and Local Development, Mª Jesús Pinto, has welcomed the participants in the first session of the workshop "Activate yourself and find your job" that has begun today at Jelena Social Center.

These work orientation workshops are aimed at people over 30 years of age in the municipality of Benidorm who are unemployed and aim to awaken the initiative and proactivity of people in unemployment situation, helping them to clarify their goal and possibilities in the current socio-economic context. The ultimate goal is that each one generates its own employability strategy by addressing the necessary areas and developing awareness of the importance of continuous work in the search for employment.

Both group workshops and individual tutorials will be held. The first will be held at the Jelena Social Center, on March 12, 14 and 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and will be reinforced with individualized tutoring specifically for the 20 attendees of the workshops given today. Start.

For Mª Jesús Pinto, "this is one more activity among all the range deployed by the Agency for Employment and Local Development of Benidorm for trying to reach the maximum possible unemployed people in our city, in order to improve their skills of access to the world of work. Currently public aid is focused, above all, on improving employment among the youngest, so we have also opened this option to unemployed people in our municipality, over 30 years, in a month in which the number of people unemployed has returned to below 6,000, data that take us back to moments before the crisis, but not for that reason we will decline in our efforts to further reduce these figures. "

This workshop is funded by Obra Social La Caixa and given by Vigela Lloret, an expert economist and guidance counselor, with the completion of at least three editions scheduled for this year.
