Benidorm joins the International Day of Prostate Cancer by illuminating the Castell, the Town Hall and the Tossal in turquoise blue

Benidorm joins today the commemoration of the International Day of Prostate Cancer illuminating in turquoise blue three of its most iconic enclaves: the Castell, the Tossal in La Cala and the façade of the Town Hall. The objective of this gesture is to make visible a disease of which more than 36,000 people were diagnosed in Spain in 2020 alone.

According to data provided by ANCAP (National Association of Prostate Cancer), more than ten percent of Spaniards affected by the disease die because there is no prevention policy and public awareness in this regard, hence the importance of giving visibility to the group to contribute to an improvement in prevention at the national level.

With this initiative, Benidorm joins the activities organized in Spain by this group, activities that are promoted in the vast majority of countries internationally and that seek to obtain greater media support, to make the population aware of the importance of prevention to reduce mortality.
