Yesterday the 8th consignment was approved, which injects 60,000 euros into the local productive fabric

Benidorm has settled more than half a thousand cases of grants for companies and freelancers against Covid-19

Benidorm has settled more than half a thousand cases of grants for companies and freelancers against Covid-19...

Benidorm City Council continues to settle application files for municipal grants to support commerce, companies, SMEs and freelancers in the city against the effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Local Government Board approved yesterday the 8th consignment, with which 60,000 euros are injected into the local productive fabric; an amount that is added to the 271,000 euros settled in previous weeks that have already been paid to the beneficiary companies and freelancers.

The Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez, has reported that "with this 8th consignment more than 450 application files have already been solved." “In a very high percentage of just over 80%, requests are solved favorably, since companies or freelancers meet the requirements established in the bases; while most of the rejected petitions are due to the fact that the commercial, professional or activity does not have its fiscal domicile in Benidorm but in another municipality ”, she added.

Gómez recalled that it is a Technical Commission, made up of technicians from different departments, which is in charge of studying and evaluating each of the files on a weekly basis to verify that they comply with the requirements and determine the amount that proceeds if it is solved favorably. The amount of grants ranges between 500 and 1,000 euros depending on the condition that the state of alarm decree caused on the activity.

Thus, the aid amounts to 1,000 euros for those who were affected by the closure of establishments; to 750 euros for those who saw their turnover reduced by at least 40% between March 14 and April 19 with respect to the average of the previous six months or the period of high activity; and 500 euros for applicants who have been beneficiaries of municipal grants to families.

The councilor for Employment and Local Promotion has announced that "the Technical Commission has already assessed the ninth batch, which in the coming days and after passing the inspection phase will be addressed by the Local Government Board for approval and payment." This ninth shipment amounts to 44,250 euros.
