Vouchers redeemable at partner establishments are now available
The City Council has settle the call for grants for the acquisition of educational supplies for the 2nd cycle of Early Childhood Education, which for the 2020/2021 academic year have been awarded to about 1,100 students for a total amount of 66,649.75 euros, thus exceeding 225 the number of beneficiaries in relation to last year.
The Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, explained that “in this atypical year, marked by the pandemic, we have tried to make it easier for families to apply for and access these grants, awarding them directly to minors born in 2015 and 2016 who already enjoyed this benefit last school year ”. To this initial remittance of 546 beneficiaries, two other remittances have been added, especially taken over by the students born in 2017 who have joined this course in school activity, as well as by those boys and girls in the 2nd cycle of Early Childhood Education who did not request help in previous courses. In total, 1,075 students.
The amount of the first approved remittance reached 33,851.75 euros, while in the second 23,746 euros were granted to 383 beneficiaries. The third of the remittances, in turn, has reached 146 students.
Moreno has pointed out that "for this 2020/2021 academic year the maximum individual grant has been 62 euros", and recalled that "the total amount reserved for this call is 68,000 euros, so the budget item has been practically exhausted. The person in charge of Education has informed that “the vouchers for the acquisition of school supplies, to be exchanged in the collaborating establishments, are already available.
Each family will be informed of the point assigned to collect these vouchers and that depends on the educational center of each student. Thus, the students of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores Catholic State school and the CEIPs Gabriel Miró, Mestre Gaspar López, Ausiàs March, Leonor Canalejas and Miguel Hernández will collect their vouchers at the Department of Education, located on the third floor of the Town Hall. Els Tolls and Puig Campana schools are assigned the municipal branch of Els Tolls; while in the municipal branch of Foietes the vouchers will be available for the students of the CEIPs Bautista Lledó, Vasco Núñez de Balboa and Aitana. Finally, the beneficiaries of La Cala and El Murtal schools will collect the vouchers in the municipal branch of La Cala, and those of Serra Gelada in the branch of Rincón de Loix.
