The mayor, Toni Pérez, has indicated that “starting tomorrow, Tuesday, federated swimmers residing in Benidorm will be able to train in the city's waters, although access to the sea will be centralized in Mal Pas beach in order to ensure the correct compliance with the conditions established by the Ministry of Health ”.
Toni Pérez explained that "to swim in open water athletes must communicate it in advance to the Beaches department" by email, playaymedioambiente@benidorm.org. In this communication, athletes must provide documentation that proves their federation status in this discipline.
To manage and control access of federated swimmers to Mal Pas beach, the lifeguard service is brought forward at 06.00.
The mayor recalled that "as established by the Ministry of Health, athletes must maintain an interpersonal safety distance of two meters." In addition, "training sessions will be individual, the presence of coaches or other auxiliary personnel is not allowed, except in the case of those who practice adapted sports who may practice the activity together with another athlete.
