Pedestrian circulation has also been restricted at Plaza de la Hispanidad
Benidorm City Council closes several parks due to strong gusts of wind
Benidorm City Council has closed several urban parks due to the strong gusts of wind which at times have exceeded 60 kilometers per hour. Specifically, Elche, Foietes, and l'Aigüera parks have been closed. In addition, pedestrian circulation has also been restricted at Plaza de la Hispanidad after one of the exhibition panels located at this point collapsed. However, fortunately, no damage has been caused.
The wind has also moved construction fences and containers, sometimes making circulation difficult on several streets and avenues.
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) maintains the yellow warning active until midnight due to strong gusts of wind of up to 65 kilometers per hour and coastal phenomena, which are causing waves of between 3 and 4 meters. Tomorrow, Friday, both warnings expire.
The City Council has asked the population to take extreme precautions while this wind episode persists.
