The City Council has ordered SUMA not to collect IVTM and trash taxes while the alarm status is in force

Benidorm cancels until further notice the receipt of municipal educational and sports services

20 March 2020
Benidorm suspende hasta nuevo aviso el cobro de recibos de servicios municipales educativos y deportivos

Benidorm City Council has cancelled "until further notice", the collection of direct debits for municipal services due to the coronavirus crisis. This is reflected in the decree signed today by the councilor of Finance, Aida García Mayor, that clearly indicates that receipts for educational and sports services such as nursery schools, Early Childhood Service ( SAPI), the Municipal Conservatories of Music and Dance, municipal sports schools and the subscription to sports facilities, as well as the direct debits of open markets and of "any other municipal service subject to temporary closure".

Likewise, the decree also orders SUMA "not to proceed to the charge" of the receipts of the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles (IVTM) and the garbage rate, which were going to be collected within the first period of voluntary payment . García Mayor has reported that this order "will be in force as long as the state of alarm persists."
