The Local Government Board (JGL) of Benidorm City Council has approved the consolidated text of the modified urbanization project and the project for the completion of the works of the PP 3/1 Industrial sector of the General Municipal Planning. That is the unlocking and the definitive green light for the completion of urbanization and subsequent development of the industrial sector. The proposal of the Councilor for Urban Planning, Lourdes Caselles, also included approving the price review file to be applied to the urbanization project.

In both projects - urbanization and completion of works - the urban developer, Terra Village Land, states that the budget for the completion of the urbanization works represents practically an increase of 80% of the urbanization costs initially planned concerning the project approved in 2003. These costs now amount to 30,009,212.17 euros.

Similarly, Terra Village Land had also made a request for a price review to be applied to the urbanization project, a request that was favourably reported by the municipal technicians for an amount of 4,762,486.06 euros and as such appears in the approved proposal. Thus, the company must present a guarantee of 7% of the amount of the urbanization charges and the amount approved for price revision, those 4.7 million mentioned.

The city's mayor, Toni Pérez, will meet with the land owners, technicians and urban development agent to offer details of the new projects and the reassessment that the company must present within the next three months. At this meeting, the reports from the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of the Environment on the modification of the layout of the affected livestock routes will also be discussed.

On the other hand, a response has also been given to the allegations presented by eight landowners in the sector according to the indications of the municipal technical reports.

Toni Pérez has pointed out that "in the absence of the presentation of the reassessment of the urbanization charges and its approval in the next three months, the works in the industrial sector that were paralyzed by the Ministry in 2010 and that have already But then they were 66% executed.” The mayor has described today's approval as “excellent news for the city” because, as he stated, “it means that works can be resumed that will be of enormous benefit to the city and the development of a sector that has been stopped for many years due to causes beyond the control of the municipality.”

Pérez has also indicated that these works will be carried out “in parallel” to those that are being developed for the creation of what is known as Vial Discotecas and the large access roundabout to the industrial estate that began in May 2023.
