The Andalusian House in Benidorm celebrates Cross of May Festival

Casa de Andalucía in Benidorm celebrated the traditional Fiesta de la Cruz de Mayo today, a festival that commemorates the discovery of the Holy Cross by Saint Helena and marks the beginning of the spring season. The day was filled with tradition, music, and fellowship, bringing together residents and members in a festive atmosphere steeped in symbolism.
Throughout the day, the members of the Casa de Andalucía enjoyed a day of fellowship and, at around 1:00 p.m., welcomed the Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Councillor for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros, along with other members of the municipality and the regional representative, José Ramón González de Zárate, who joined the President of the Casa de Andalucía, Leonor Jiménez, and the rest of the members in the celebration.
The events will continue this afternoon, with the blessing of the Cross by the parish priest of La Almudena, Pedro Crespo. Musical performances and dancing will follow this, and the floral offering will take place just as night falls. Starting at 9:00 p.m., the most delicious moment of the day will arrive with a tasting of typical Andalusian tapas and the closing celebrations.
Fiesta de la Cruz de Mayo is one of the most anticipated celebrations for the large Andalusian community in Benidorm and an excellent opportunity to enjoy the culture of this region of Spain.
