Around half a thousand Primary students from all the educational centres in Benidorm took part today, Saturday, March 23, in the XXVII Local School Cross Country Championship, which is integrated into the Sports Games that throughout the course are celebrated in the city.

For the third consecutive year, the race has been held in Moralet Park, “a large green area that is becoming increasingly consolidated as a sports space, complementary to the facilities that Benidorm has and ideal for tests such as this School Field Championship through", as indicated by the Sports Councilor, Javier Jordá, who has given the start to the tests that have been held.

The Championship began with the male and female races from the 6th grade of Primary and was completed shortly before noon with the competition for the smallest students, 1st grade. In addition to medals for the top six finishers in each event, there were also team trophies for the top three participating centres in each category.

The day has had a good atmosphere and the sporting spirit. A good number of young athletes have been accompanied by their fathers, mothers and instructors in a championship that is one of the longest-running initiatives of the Department of Sports, and has the collaboration of Benidorm Athletics Club.
