The 5th Les Ones Dance Festival will once again mark the start of summer cultural activities in Benidorm

Benidorm City Council's Department of Culture launches the fifth edition of the "Les Ones" Dance Festival next Thursday, the 26th. This year, its director, Lidia Lara, presented the event today, along with the Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, which "marks the beginning of Benidorm's summer cultural activities," as stated by the councillor.

This year, the festival will focus on Plaza de los Reyes de España and the Castell (Church of Our Lady of the Assumption) due to the high visibility it provides. "These activities take place in the street to showcase dance to our residents and visitors," explained Pérez. This fifth edition will feature professional companies and local dance schools in its program, and once again, all workshops and performances will be free.

The festival will begin on Thursday, the 26t,h at 10:00 a.m. with a workshop led by Los Informalls, held at the Cultural Centre. The artists 'work with humour, improvisation, and everything related to chance. It's aimed at a younger audience," said Lidia Lara. In the afternoon, at 8:30 p.m., a dance school showcase will take place in the Plaza de SSD MM Los Reyes de España, and the day will conclude with "Aperitivo" by Los Informalls at the same venue.

On Friday the 27th, the workshop will begin with Clementine and Lisard at the Cultural Centre at 10:00 a.m. and in the afternoon, it will be Jacob Gómez's company's turn to perform "Quema" in the Plaza del Castell starting at 8:30 p.m. This showcase will be followed by Clementine and Lisard's "La mecánica del Infortuni."

The festival will conclude on Saturday, the 28th, with the show "Dummies" by the Wako Danza company at 8:30 p.m., followed by a performance of "Al Punto" by "another well-established company, Otra Danza by Asun Noales."

Jaime Jesús Pérez emphasised during the presentation that the celebration of this well-established festival is "one of the most important and powerful initiatives of the City Council to promote and foster contemporary dance in the city" and added that "we will also have a very important show in July."
