Five clubs have taken part in the tour, as always with varied themes on current local and national issues

Wit, criticism and irony once again star in the Humor Parade of the clubs

Desfile del Humor 2023

The clubs have taken center stage on the Tuesday evening of Les Festes Majors Patronals de Benidorm with the celebration of the Humor Parade that has reviewed, as always using wit and irony, the current events of the city and the country. The rise in the IBI and garbage at the local level and Pedro Sánchez's pacts with Puigdemont have been the most recurring topics.

Five clubs have paraded in the traditional Humor Parade organized every year by the Association of Penyes and sponsored by the Commission. A smaller number than in 2022 when nine participated in the popular and colorful criticism and humor contest.

A route that started from Venus and Ruzafa Streets until the show ended in Martínez Alejos Street, where the authorities' tribune was located. On the stand were: the mayor, Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros, the queens Daniela Talavera and Angélica Morenilla and their Dames, the presidents of the clubs and the members of the commission, Ramón Cano and Vicente Solaz, as well as the majority of the local corporation, the regional deputies José Ramón González de Zárate and Mario Villar and Senator Agustín Almodóbar. The honorary members have been placed in another tribune directly in front.

The parade took place accompanied by several thousand neighbors and visitors who did not want to miss the sarcasm and good humor that the participating club members display each year and their criticism of current affairs.

The five participating clubs were, in this order, Che Qué Fort, La Cridá, El Cranc, Coeters, and Bavallons. The first of them has focused on the increase in the IBI and the garbage rate with a pampering show. The cridá has ironically commented on the pacts between Pedro Sánchez and Puigdemont and the votes of the pro-independence party in exchange for forgiveness, more money, and independence.

El Cranc has satirized numerous current local and state issues such as the inaugurations in Benidorm, drunken tourism, the rise in the IBI and garbage, the Rubiales kiss, the PSOE-Junts pacts, or the fire in Armanello. Coeters Club has staged 'the town hall circus' to ironize garbage or cleanliness in Benidorm. Finally, Bavallons has staged Jesús Calleja's program 'Volando Voy' about Benidorm to address local issues such as the garbage rate, the bus station, the cultural center, and the new athletics track.

The first prize of the parade, the Special Prize 'José Manuel Galiana' is endowed with 1,200 euros and is sponsored by the Associació de Penyes. The second, sponsored by the Commission, is endowed with 1,000 euros. The third prize is 600 euros and the fourth prize is 400 euros.
The winners of the awards will be known during the concerts scheduled for tonight in the Plaza de SS MM Los Reyes de España starting at 11:30 p.m.

Tomorrow will be the last day of the festivities. The day will start with a popular chocolate in the Commission tent at 10 in the morning and an hour later the Festa de les Festes will begin from Plaza de Neptuno to Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España. There will be a children's 'mascletá' and also at 2 p.m. another in Jaime I. At 6 p.m., the Float Parade will begin and at the end of it, fireworks will be set off.
