SkyFest Benidorm presents its event venue in Madrid, which will open this summer with a capacity for up to 25,000 spectators

SkyFest Benidorm presented its event venue yesterday in Madrid. The venue, which will open this summer, has a capacity of up to 25,000 spectators. More than 400 people attended the official presentation yesterday afternoon, held in the Plaza Mahou at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. The event was primarily aimed at artists, music promoters, and the specialised press. Among those present were the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councillor for Events, Jesús Carrobles; the Director of Tourism for the Valencian Regional Government, Israel Martínez; Senator Agustín Almodóbar; the manager of Visit Benidorm, Leire Bilbao, who shared figures on tourism activity, its reach, and potential; as well as SkyFest's partners and collaborators.

The event's photocall was graced by familiar faces such as the winners of the last Benidorm Fest, Tony Grox and Lucycaly; and participants from different editions such as Vicco, Asha, Rosalinda Galán, and Jorge González, among others; RTVE's Director of Communications, María Eizaguirre; and comedians David Cepo, Isabel Rey, and Miguel Miguel.

During the presentation, hosted by broadcaster Silvia Jato, the venue's features were revealed, and the already confirmed program was reviewed. This program includes more than twenty events, and in just a few weeks, at least "two more surprises" will be added, according to SkyFest CEO Álex Fratini.

The venue, located on the Hermanos Martínez Munuera football fields, will feature two stages, 14 and 20 meters respectively, and more than one hundred restrooms, shaded, air-conditioned areas, a chill-out and relaxation zone, over 100 linear meters of bars, a wide range of food options, green spaces, VIP terraces, and super VIP boxes. The venue's capacity will be adjustable depending on the type of show, ranging from 2,000 to 25,000 attendees, and it will be open from June 28th to September 6th.

The mayor pointed out that this project confirms "the versatility of our sports facilities," in this case allowing "thousands of people to enjoy this summer" leisure, fun, and music with "a program that is already an attraction in itself" and which is complemented by a venue "that we've already seen a preview of, but which we need to experience firsthand."

After the presentation, it was time for music, with a live performance by the band The Walls and a DJ set by Dani del Lío.

Programming already confirmed

SkyFest program kicks off on June 28th with the Opening Party, a benefit for the Doble Amor centre. A week later, the Latin Fest (July 4th and 5th) will take place, followed by a tribute to Nino Bravo featuring the voice of Serafín Zubiri (July 17th), the Indiverso Festival (July 18th), Chayanne (July 24th), K-Pop Las Guardianas del Ritmo (July 26th), the Oro Viejo Festival by DJ Nano (August 1st), and the DJ Symphonic show (August 21st). There will also be a stand-up comedy series, "Lo nunca visto" (Never Seen Before), featuring Miguel Lago, Luis Piedrahita, Grison, Álex Clavero, Isabel Rey, Miguel Miguel, David Puerto, and David Cepo throughout July and August. Magic shows will also be on offer, and the musicals Tarzan, The Sound of Music, and Totally Tina will be performed. Added to all this will be the TardeOlé, in a ‘beach club’ format, and sporting events such as the broadcast of the World Cup final or the Costa Blanca Cup.
