The provisional lists are published on July 1
Public schools and the Catholic school in Benidorm receive 388 applications for a place for 3-year-old children
The twelve public schools and the catholic center of Benidorm have received 388 applications for a place for Early Childhood Education for 3 years for the 2020/2021 academic year during the admission period, according to data transferred today by the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno. The councillor recalled that these requests are added to the students who already had a reserved space in the 3-year-old nursery classrooms, either because "this course they were already enrolled in the P2 units that the Ministry offers in four schools" or for "presenting Special educational needs".
On July 1, the provisional lists of admitted students will be published, once the scaling process is completed in the centers "in which the applications received have exceeded the number of available places". Specifically, CEIP La Cala, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Puig Campana, Els Tolls and Aitana –that this course has a ratio of 20 students- will have to resort to the scaling; and the catholic center Nuestra Señora de los Dolores.
After the publication of the provisional lists, the families will have until July 3 to electronically submit the appropriate claims on the Conselleria website. The final lists will be published on July 10, and families will have one month to file new claims. Finally, from July 13 to 29, registration must be formalized. If after this period the registration has not been formalized, the place will be lost.
The councillor of Education has indicated that "entrance for the next school year Benidorm has 4 units less than 3-year-old children, since the Ministry has decided to remove a classroom from this stage in the schools La Cala, Puig Campana, Vasco Núñez de Balboa and Mestre Gaspar López, who go from two units to one ”. However, "we are waiting to find out if the Ministry responds to the request made by the School Inspection so that these classrooms are enabled again in CEIP Vasco Núñez de Balboa and Puig Campana."
Moreno has also reported the result of the admission process in the four 2-year-old kindergartens implemented by the Ministry in Puig Campana, Vasco Núñez, Aitana and Mestre Gaspar López schools, in which there are 72 school positions. After the application process, 51 requests have been received, so there are currently 21 vacancies. The terms of claims are the same as for Early Childhood Education of 3 years.
The head of Education recalled that these P2 classrooms managed by the Ministry add to the places offered in the three municipal nursery schools in Benidorm and the Early Childhood Service (SAPI), in which 234 applications have been admitted.
