The City Council thus contributes to the travel expenses to the UA and the UHM made by the students during the 2019/2020 academic year
Education opens the deadline to request the municipal grant for university transport of ABEU
The Department of Education, led by Maite Moreno, has opened the application period for municipal aid for university transportation from ABEU (Association of University Students of Benidorm). Moreno recalled that "the purpose of these grants is to offset part of the expenditure made during the 2019/2020 academic year by students who continuously use the ABEU bus service to travel to the San Vicente and San Juan campus of the University of Alicante (UA) and Miguel Hernández University (UMH) ”. In this way, "we favor collective transportation and reduce family expenses for these trips."
Moreno has reported that "as in previous years, the amount of the grant is proportional to the transportation expense that the students have disbursed during the course, the benefit not exceeding 50% of that expense."
The application for aid must be processed electronically through the Electronic Office of the City Council (https://sede.benidorm.org/inicio) before July 24. To do this procedure, a digital certificate is not required. In addition to completing the electronic form, the original receipts of the payments paid during the 2019/2020 academic year must be provided, as well as the photocopy of the bank account. To access these grants, it is essential to be registered in Benidorm before June 1, 2019, to have used the ordinary ABEU bus service and to be up to date with payment of fees.
The mayor of Education has announced that "in the coming days we will also report about grants for non-associative university transport, aimed at students who travel by train or bus from Benidorm to public universities in the provinces of Alicante and Valencia".
