The city has 7,600 parking spaces of this kind, 600 of them enabled in recent weeks
The park and ride parks, full during Easter
The park-and-ride parking spaces in Benidorm have been "full" during Easter, "thus demonstrating that the city is more than prepared to order the usual avalanche of vehicles to park at peak times such as Easter or the summer season". This was stated today by the Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, who recalled that "this municipal network with nearly 40 park-and-ride parking offers 7,600 free parking spaces distributed in practically all parts of the city and which are available of residents, tourists and workers”.
González de Zárate specified that in anticipation of the important arrival of vehicles in Benidorm during Holy Week "two new parking spaces have recently been set up, with a total of 600 spaces and located on Almirall Bernat de Sarriá Avenue next to Pueblo market and in the vicinity of nightclubs on Avenida Comunidad Valenciana”.
These two new car parks are added to the slightly more than 7,000 spaces that were already operational and that are included in the brochure published by the City Council and that can be consulted on the municipal website https://benidorm.org.
The councilor indicated that during the days of Easter "we have seen large crowds" in car parks such as those of Salt de l'Aigua, Italia and Cuba streets, Beniardá Avenue, or the one located next to the regional fire department park. The occupancy levels have also been significant in the new car park on Avenida Armada Española, favoring consumption in hotels and shops in the area".
The person in charge of Mobility stressed that "the behavior of tourists, many of whom are accustomed to using this type of car park in their cities of origin and large capitals, has been stupendous", since "they have parked in these spaces and have moved to the center of the city on foot, without any problem, to consume in local establishments and businesses”.
“The city works and it does so in an organized manner”, he stressed.
