The event ‘Festa de les Festes’ brings together in the square of SS MM los Reyes de España entities and regional houses to which the queens and their court of honour have danced the ‘Ball del Peuet’
Fun and gunpowder for the little ones on the last day of Benidorm’s Major Patron Saint Festivities
The Patron Saint Festivities will bring five intense days of celebrations to a close tonight with a spectacular Parade of Floats and the traditional Fireworks Display, with which Benidorm bids farewell to its main festivities each year. This year, the display will be set off by Vulcano Pyrotechnics, which has been responsible for all the fireworks this year, and will consume over 1,000 kilograms of explosive material. But before all that, the city has already enjoyed a morning of camaraderie and festive fellowship, complete with fireworks for the children.
This final day of the festivities began, as it does every day, with a popular hot chocolate gathering in the festival organisers' tent. At eleven o'clock in the morning, the city's festival associations and regional centres gathered in Neptune Square to parade through the streets alongside the queens of the 2025 Patron Saint Festivals, Paula Pascual Sánchez and Aitana Pérez Gutiérrez, and their court of honour, to Plaza de Sus Majestades Los Reyes de España. Once in front of the Comissió's festival headquarters, the queens, their courts of honour, and the 2025 president, Susana Martínez, greeted all the participating organisations at the entrance to the marquee, along with the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros; and other representatives of the City Council.
After refreshments for all participants, the festival groups were called one by one to receive a copy of the Official Book of the 2025 Patron Saint Festivals from the queens Paula and Aitana, the president, and the councillor for Fiestas. The event concluded with all participants in the square where the Town Hall is located, where the queens and their courts of honour performed the traditional ‘Ball del Peuet’ (Little Foot Dance) to the rhythm of the xirimita (a type of flute) and tabalet (a small drum).
At 1 p.m., in the same square, a children's mascletà (a traditional firecracker display) and a candy firework display were set off. In addition to Mayor Toni Pérez, the councillor for Festivals, and members of the City Council, the Mayor of Elche, Pablo Ruz, and his Councillor for Tourism and Culture, Irene Ruiz, also attended the event.
This afternoon, starting at 6:00 PM, the Float Parade will take place, featuring 40 floats. The prizes will be announced at 11:30 PM in the Festival Committee's tent. The parade route begins on Alcoy Avenue and continues along Martínez Alejos Avenue, Ruzafa Street, Venus Street, Marte Street, Almendros Street, and ends near Elche Park. Following the parade, a fireworks display will be launched from Poniente Beach, marking the end of the 2025 Festival.
