According to the technicians, the proposal of Aquambiente is the most advantageous
The full session will vote about the provisional award of the contract of the WWTP, which introduces measures to reduce the conductivity of water
The full municipal corporation of Benidorm will vote next Monday, September 24, the proposal for the provisional award of management and maintenance contract of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), which went out to tender for the amount of about 4 million euros per year and for a period of four years with the possibility of two additional extensions. The proposal for adjudication has been ruled today in the Internal Regime Commission.
After analyzing the proposals submitted by six companies that have submitted to the public tender, the municipal technicians have concluded that the most advantageous offer is that provided by the company Aquambiente Servicios para el Sector del Agua SAU, which proposes a reduction of 1.20% of the bid price and 25.20% more improvements. Among these improvements is the implementation of measures to reduce conductivity, which will raise the quality of purified water thus enhancing the reuse of water for agriculture.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, has indicated that "as the municipal technicians move us, the actions required in the contract and the proposals by the company will improve the service that is fundamental for the city, and will allow progress in the reuse and use of water resources, one of the keys that have made our global water management system a reference worldwide. "
For the execution of this measure, the company proposes to do works to modify the inflow of water into the WWTP, generating "a double cycle of arrival" of these to the plant through "a kind of 'bypass'". This action will allow to discriminate the flows coming from the zone of Poniente, the one of Levante and those of l'Alfàs del Pi, that present different levels of conductivity.
Another of the improvements proposed is the implementation of an intelligent control platform for aeration processes, replacing the current procedure with a more advanced one. This technological change will increase energy efficiency and reduce losses.
Aquambiente also proposes improvements focused on increasing sustainability and linked to tourism intelligence and Smart City, such as the use of photovoltaic energy for vehicle loading; the implantation of a plant for the production of biomethane - taking advantage of the biogas generated in the treatment of sludge - that can be used by service vehicles; or the installation of a meteorological station in the WWTP whose data can be integrated in any technological environment.
