Diputación subsidizes the soundproofing of 4 pumps that generate discomfort to neighbors
The agency contributes with half of the funds for this work, which must be finished before September 30
Benidorm City Council has received a grant from the Provincial Council of Alicante to soundproof four pumping stations that violate the rules of noise and generate discomfort to neighbors. As part of the aid for the repair of infrastructures and hydraulic installations, the provincial agency has reserved about 15,000 euros for this soundproofing, half the cost of the work, as informed today by Councilor for Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate .
The councilman has detailed that with the soundproofing project prepared by the municipal technicians "the situation will be improved in the stations of Monte Carlo, Sierra Dorada, Nicaragua and Italy so that they do not have the problems of noise".
Measurements made by the City Council indicate that Montecarlo and Sierra Dorada stations do not meet the sound parameters. To these two, we add the pumping of streets Nicaragua and Italy - which also form part of the sewage water supply network to the treatment plant -, over which "for years there have been complaints from the neighborhood because of perceived noise Especially at night. "
The performance anticipated by the technicians passes, fundamentally, to finish with the exit of the sound to the outside. To do this, "we are going to change the doors and the lines and ventilation systems by others that avoid the sound filtrations". As soon as these changes are made "the neighbors of these areas will notice the improvement immediately."
De Zárate said that based on the call, "these works of soundproofing have to be finished before September 30," and has influenced the "support" of the Diputación de Alicante to Benidorm since in 2017 the city will Receive from the provincial agency "nearly two million euros in registered grants".
The part of the soundproofing work that corresponds to finance the City, about 15,000 euros, will be made from the Investment Plan of the water concessionaire, Hydraqua, who will be the one to carry out the action.
Once the problem of noise is solved, the City Council will address the smell that occurs in some pumping stations at certain times of the year.
