The Department of Equality promotes a specialized training course for prevention of gender violence
The hall of the Casa del Fester hosts the course of 'specialized training for the prevention of gender violence (s)' every Thursday of the month of May from 10 am to 2 pm and on June 6 from 10.30 am at 14.30. The training is given by the Eculge Research Group "Economy, Culture and Gender" of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.
The course becomes necessary in view of the events and figures included in the current statistics in Spain in which it is observed that gender violence, far from being a problem of the past, continues to be present at the present time. Gender violence is a complex problem, which requires a specialized, multidisciplinary and transversal intervention.
The specialized training offered at Casal Fester has a double aspect. On the one hand, with the intention of training professionals who intervene with women victims of gender violence directly or indirectly. On the other hand, it is intended to achieve a greater understanding of this phenomenon as a result of the unequal power relations sustained in a patriarchal system.
The evaluation system will be based on the active and participative attendance of the students in the classes. The assistants will have 20 hours of theoretical class in the classroom and later, they will have 5 hours of non-attended tutorial class in which various activities will be carried out that complement the contents of the 25-hour course.
