Both employment plans cover all range of age

The City Council will hire 33 unemployed people for a year with the Empuju and Explus programs

19 June 2023
El Ayuntamiento contratará durante un año a 33 personas desempleadas con los programas Empuju y Explus

Benidorm City Council is going to hire 33 unemployed people for 12 months through the Empuju and Explus programs, "which in practice implies covering all age segments", as the mayor, Toni Pérez, pointed out, who detailed that "these contracts will reach 16 people under 30 years of age and 17 who are over that age."

Toni Pérez advanced that the occupations requested in both programs are linked to customer service and building maintenance. In the case of EMPUJU, two higher professional training technicians will also be hired: microcomputer systems programmers of computer applications.

For the development of employment programs, the City Council has obtained two LABORA subsidies: 258,264.00 euros for Explus and 253,716.00 euros for Empuju, both financed through the European Social Fund. The municipal contribution, in turn, will be about 300,000 euros.

As detailed by the mayor, through the Explus program, 8 unemployed people over 30 years of age will be hired for a year as employees of the customer service area – code 44111018; as well as 9 facility maintainers -code 71911012-. The City Council contributes 148,823.17 euros to this program.

Toni Pérez has pointed out that "although for months Benidorm has registered the lowest unemployment rates in more than a decade, from the City Council we continue to deploy active employment policies, as we have been doing before, during and after the crisis caused by the pandemic, convinced that promoting employment is the best social policy and help for families”. For this reason, he specified, "for another year we are committed to these employment programs that reach the entire population and we allocate the necessary municipal resources, in this case, to hire more than 30 people."

Thus, through the Empuju 2023 program, to which the City Council allocates 149,773.60 euros, unemployed young people under 30 who are registered in the National Youth Guarantee System will be hired for 12 months. In this case, 7 young people will be hired to carry out functions of information assistants -code 44121011-, 7 workers who will serve as facility maintainers -code 71911012- and 2 senior technicians in microcomputer systems -code 38121023- or Programmers of computer applications -code 38201017-.

Toni Pérez reported that "the City Council has already registered these job offers, so people interested in participating in the selection process of Explus or Empuju must be registered in the aforementioned occupations and the Espai Labora de Benidorm as unemployed ”. In the coming days, Espai Labora de Benidorm will survey the unemployed people registered in the occupations indicated for both programs. Subsequently, this body will send a list to the City Council with the list of people who will participate in the selection process.
