Benidorm sets aside another 16,100 euros in grants to support new freelancers and entrepreneurial projects

Benidorm destina otros 16.100 euros en ayudas para apoyar a nuevos autónomos y proyectos emprendedores

Benidorm City Council has awarded an additional €16,100 in grants to new businesses and entrepreneurial projects launched over the past year, bringing the total approved in previous rounds to € 38,900. The Local Governing Board approved the fourth grant on Monday. These grants, promoted by the Department of Employment and Local Promotion, aim to support the creation of new businesses and the development of entrepreneurial projects in the city.

The councillor for the department, Mónica Gómez, explained that “this fourth grant has benefited 20 new projects for freelancers and companies, bringing the total to 67 entrepreneurial projects so far this year,” with an investment to date of €55,000. He also noted that the beneficiaries “have received between 700 and 1,000 euros in aid to develop their business activities,” adding that, “as has been the case with every round of funding, the diversity of activities and services is remarkable, which clearly demonstrates the city's dynamism and the opportunities it offers to different sectors.”

Gómez reiterated that the objective of these subsidies is “to boost economic development and job creation in our city,” either through entrepreneurs who have established themselves as freelancers in the last year with their tax domicile in Benidorm and are registered residents of the town, or through individuals not registered residents but who have registered as freelancers, with their tax domicile in the city, and have obtained a business license from Benidorm City Council between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, having also commenced their economic activity during that period.

The councilwoman also highlighted that with this fourth grant, the penultimate one planned for this annual aid program, “we have already surpassed the amount and number of beneficiaries we reached last year in this same round, demonstrating the dynamism of economic activity in our city.” She also noted that in the previous edition, the municipal investment in these grants reached €69,600 and benefited a total of 84 freelancers and entrepreneurs.
